31 Jan Can you target names and addresses with Facebook ads?
Occasionally I receive an inquiry to create Facebook ad campaigns to target people by name, email address or physical address. This is not allowed by Facebook, and if you find a way around it, your account will be shut down.
What you can do is link to or upload your mailing list to your Facebook ad account. Facebook then will look for Facebook users who match your mailing list, and you’ll be able to create a custom audience for your ads to target your mailing list. However, you will not get any information as to who specifically on your mailing list clicked or engaged with your ad, and you can’t manually select who from your mailing list sees your ads.
If you want to target your ads even more specifically, you could target those in your mailing list who live in a specific location, or have certain interests, etc. However, Facebook doesn’t let you target your ads to a group that is too small, so make sure you have a couple of thousand people at least in the audience you are targeting your ads to.
